JOURNAL ENTRY

(ACCORDING TO HARPER LEE'S TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, FROM SCOUT FINCH'S PERSPECTIVE)

Maycomb, Alabama - that’s the place I grew up in. I live in this town since I was born, and my mother died when I was two. Jem and Atticus are extremely depressed about my mom’s death yet. However, I feel nothing about her because I was too young to lose a mother when I was a two-year-old-kid.

Talking about my hometown – Maycomb, it is a small town and everyone knows each other like my dad. He knew everyone who lives here, because Atticus was related by blood or marriage to nearly every family in the town. People in this area were very united. Most of us felt terrible about the Redley’s family. If you never seen their house, don’t brag yourself about that you have been to the scariest haunted house, because it is the bleakest place in the world. Every townsfolks would agree my idea, especially my brother. If we lost any valuable things, we will consider it was stolen by Redley, no matter he is innocent or not. That’s true facts in the town, but I still like here, because I got my entire memories of childhood from here.

Dear my teacher of life

( from Charoltte's perspective)

You are the sky allowed us to feel free to fly.

You are a green tree allowed us to feel free to dance in the wind.

Although I know,

No matter how bright during the daytime.

It will turn to dark in night.

No matter how green leaves are.

It will fall off in one day.

I still miss you.

I feel sorry.

When I started feeling great about meeting you again, it was time to say good bye.

Though, I don't want to.

But I still need to say good bye, sorry and thank you.

He Can't Fly

(a poetic response to the sound of hollyhocks by Hugh Garner)

He is a caterpillar when he was born.

He lives in a cocoon.

His cocoon is too hard.

He will become a butterfly in some day.

There is a butterfly lives in his heart.

The butterfly desires freedom.

He is eager to flap his wings to get the place he wants.

So, he tries to get out of it and becomes a butterfly.

But it doesn’t work.

He begins to feel despair and helpless.

Finally he died in the cocoon.

Even though, he died, he still can’t leave the cocoon.
