Do Seek Their Meat from God

In the short story, “Do Seek Their Meat from God”, the title of the story comes from Psalm 104:21. The story conveys that if one wants to survive in the world, the individual must find his/her meat provided by God. Throughout the story, both panthers and the man embody the meaning of “Do Seek Their Meat from God.” In order to feed their cubs, two panthers are hunting for food in the woods during the night. After the panthers has heard the sound of cry, they go and seek their food - the child. In order to get the food, the two panthers fight against the man who tries to protect the crying boy whom he later finds out that it is his own son. After two panthers are killed by the man, their cubs are destined to die of starvation, since they are young and don’t have ability to seek for their own foods. The title “Do Seek Their Meat from God” implies the fierce competition in nature that the food or the necessity for survival.

Blue Jeans

Too many blue jeans walking on the street

The sun rises

The sky becomes blue and white

Lots of people start going to work at this time

Pairs of blue jeans rush on the street

Also in the sky train stations

And bus stops

Same speed same stride

The city is busy

all the time

The blue jeans are comfortable and wide

Flowers

I am a butterfly

exist among these beautiful scenes

I can smell

Everything is so nice

Flowers bloom and

Sparkles in my eyes

In this moment

the sunshine

warms me

Lots of colours

in my sight

Different flowers are opening

For the prize

I am not the only butterfly

Playing under the sky

When the Leaves Drop

The leaves and the tree are one

They are like mother and sons

and the leaves are always being sheltered

The wind blows

The leaves dive

The tree sighs

But the leaves are just a smile

They are dead

Near the roots

They never feel sad

They have a more important reason

to leave

She will never die

because the tree has the sons

to protect its life

During the Night

During the night

The moon comes out

The sun becomes shy

Stars are shiny and

twinkling in the sky

Everything is so quiet

Kids fall asleep

Birds disappear

During the night

Streetlights come on

The cars are rushing on the road

but everything is still quiet

A mist wraps the buildings

The city changes

into beautiful and quiet

Trees beside the Street

There is a group that

always stands beside the street

They are like glorious soldiers

They are like hard walls

The rain slaps them

The wind pushes them

They have tough bodies

to resist these crazy attacks

They are strong enough

to protect our houses

They are good enough

to purify the air

They take the time to become

stronger and stronger

They stand beside the street

and look after us silently

As the Wind blows

As the wind blows

The leaves clap

The birds take off

The clouds move

As the wind blows

The paper dances

The windows become rappers

The doors sway

As the wind blows

The rock smiles

The lake cheers

The fish jumps

As the wind blows

Everything becomes alive

Time for Waiting

We spend what we have

But sometimes

people like to waste

When I look at yesterday

I am worried

I have spent a lot of time waiting

I waited for a cup of coffee

I waited beside the stop

I waited for my friends

and waited for the elevator…

We don’t give time much thought

We let it go

because we think we have so much

We spend what we have

But sometimes

people like to waste

When I look at yesterday

I am worried

I have spent a lot of time waiting

I waited for a cup of coffee

I waited beside the stop

I waited for my friends

and waited for the elevator…

We don’t give time much thought

We let it go

because we think we have so much

After the Rain

After the rain, the world wakes up

Crocuses straighten their backs

And magpies sing on branches

Grasses revive

and become more energetic

Frozen streams warm up

Grizzly bears take a deep breath

Children hand in hand cheer for the field trip

They are cheering

HURRAH!

Sunshine

A ray of sunshine

enters my eyes

It’s from far away

not enough to hurt my eyes

It’s also a gift from the other side

The sunshine is just a thin light

that people need and rely on

without this sunshine,

we cannot even be alive

Love Smile

A smile is like ice cream

looks adorable and

tastes sweet

because it comes from the heart

A smile is like diamond

valuable and

shiny

because it comes from the heart

A smile is like sun

that warms the others and

ourselves

because it comes from the heart

A smile is the truth

no fake no lie

We smile

when everything goes right

Dark Smile

[Mimic from Micheal Ondaatje's SWEET LIKE A CROW]

Your smile looks like a pigeon being crashed

by a heavy truck

like an ugly walking dead

like wind blowing an abandoned house

like witch’s sound, like an archaeologist walking

alone in the Pyramids, like a crow cawing,

someone tasted an immature grape,

an arrow shoots in my back,

a bird falls over the tree

like the lemon is sweet

like a distorted face

like a man pretend a women,

a pianist can’t play the piano,

an athlete not good at sport

like a knife peeling me

like a car accident,

the scene after a tsunami, like a newborn

baby’s face, like a hippo come from

the water

like a fruit rots in the garbage

like a cup of vinegar

no one wants to drink

like a shirt been wearing for twenty years

and never wash

like a thunderstorm in the mid night

like the worst smile I’ve seen when someone read

my journal and lift up its skin around the mouth .

THE RED MAPLE TREE

so much depends
upon

a red maple
tree

blew with a fresh
breeze

beside the white
car

"THIS IS JUST TO SAY" POEM

I have picked
the tulips
that were on
the ground

and which
you were probably
planting
for your mother's birthday

Forgive me
they were beautiful
so soft
and so dedicate

Girl Seeks Boy for Eat Bacon & Pancake and Plan Romantic Journey
By:Catherine Chen, The Utopian Reader                     April 27th
I’m just a girl who would like to begin a day with some Salty-Bacon beside a Poached Egg and a Fresh - Cooked Pancake with you. It is a meaningful thing to do with my most important person. I also like to use a thought-shape to communicate, because I think it’s essential for human body.
I am a diminutive figure with 160cm height, and I appreciate that you can give me a sense of security and strong enough to protect me. You don’t need to be a fitness trainer but giving a sense of safety feeling can interpret in different ways.
I can send a strong message by telepathy and I hope you can as well. Sometimes, when I feel sad or depressed, I’d like to use the thought-shape instead of telling you what happens. These days, people can’t live without the thought-shape, same as me.
Usually, I dress formally during the weekdays. But, on the weekends, I like wearing shorts and go for a barbeque with my friends. When I go shopping, I like dressing skirts and also make up. However, most of girls are like walking dead when they wake up in the morning, same as me.
I enjoy eating delicious but I don’t like carrots. Carrots are the only kind of food that I cannot endure, because of their terrible tastes and smells. Maybe…you can eat that for me! I like cooking and baking. I can spend an afternoon on making a cake and dessert. It makes me feel happy and proud, after people taste my food and give me a smile. If you are planning to lose weight, I won’t force you to eat.
I like traveling around the world, doesn’t matter how far it is. I like to enjoy the Earth where we live. Taking a romantic journey, making a thought-shape and eating a breakfast with you are the most romantic thing I dreamed…
