Do Seek Their Meat from God

In the short story, “Do Seek Their Meat from God”, the title of the story comes from Psalm 104:21. The story conveys that if one wants to survive in the world, the individual must find his/her meat provided by God. Throughout the story, both panthers and the man embody the meaning of “Do Seek Their Meat from God.” In order to feed their cubs, two panthers are hunting for food in the woods during the night. After the panthers has heard the sound of cry, they go and seek their food - the child. In order to get the food, the two panthers fight against the man who tries to protect the crying boy whom he later finds out that it is his own son. After two panthers are killed by the man, their cubs are destined to die of starvation, since they are young and don’t have ability to seek for their own foods. The title “Do Seek Their Meat from God” implies the fierce competition in nature that the food or the necessity for survival.
